I love calzones. I remember a while back, I had told my husband I loved Italian food, but had never tried a calzone. It is just that I love pizza and pasta so much, I always go back to my same favorite dishes, but never switch it up long enough to make this real delicious variation of Italian food. I love when I am able to make a good ol’ fashioned pizza at home, or maybe a decadent pasta dish, but had never given anything else a chance.
I mean, let’s be honest – as much as I love Italian food, you’d think I make homemade garlic rolls… well I do not. I buy them frozen and pop them in the oven at a moment’s notice. Well, my husband told me we would try calzones that very weekend and we did.
We went to UNO pizzeria and had it there. I was overwhelmed by the amount of choices, but decided to go with a classic pepperoni. Oh my goodness, it was absolutely outstanding!
Full of flavor, great texture and gooey cheese. This was the absolute best dish I had ever tried in my life and I knew I had to get right home and find a recipe for it!
