Deep Dish, Deep South Pecan Pie

What’s a holiday dinner without the pecan pie? Boring.

I can’t get enough of pecan pie. It’s totally indulgent, especially with a dollop of homemade whipped topping. Some prefer ice cream, and that’s fine too but my mom has long served it with the whipped topping. I love that rich, nutty taste and the buttery and flaky crust. There is nothing quite like it! We usually had one at Thanksgiving, and Christmas along with a couple pumpkin pies and maybe an apple pie. The pecan was always my favorite.

This recipe is almost exactly like the one my mom made, and I am picky when it comes to my pecan pie.

I suggest you make a couple of these because they’ll be gone faster than you can say, “Gimmie some sugar darlin’!”

Quick Tip: Make sure you cook the sugar and syrup first in order to have the consistency be perfect.
