I consider myself to be one of the luckiest people alive when it comes to my job. I get to work with an amazing group of men and women, and over the years together, we have become very close. It’s one of those jobs where you look forward to going in because you are going to see your family. It’s almost like going home. Not to say we don’t hit bumps in the road, but we also have some pretty great times too.

As part of our bonding, every other week we usually do a potluck meal to start or end the day with. I voted for breakfast on a Friday this time, because it just sounded like an awesome way to kick off the weekend. We all decided what we were going to bring and my co-worker, Peggy, said she was bringing pie. I thought she meant a sweet pie, until she showed up with this beauty.

It was one of the most delicious pies that I had ever tasted. It was so hearty. It filled me right up and there was no trip to the snack machine that day!
