Homemade Pigs In A Blanket – A Childhood Favorite

I cannot count on both hands how many times I have wanted to make hot dogs for my kids for supper only to find out that we don’t have any buns.

If I’m having them, I don’t have any issues eating them on a good old slice of bread or just plain. My husband and kids think I am crazy. “How can you have a hot dog without the bun?” We don’t eat them very often so I usually don’t think to pick up the hot dog shaped bread.

This was one of those days. I told my oldest to run up to the corner convenience store and get a package there. It was a busy summer weekend so of course, they were out too.

Now what? I started looking through recipes to see what I could do with hot dogs…  These turned out awesome.

Thankfully, I had everything I needed right in the pantry to make the “blankets” for my lonely pigs. My kids gobbled these right up and never complained once about not having a bun. This is my new favorite way to eat hot dogs now!
