I feel as if I always start my stories with, “as I kid, I was picky and detested this or that food.”
But the funny thing is, it is true! I hated so many foods and my mom thought I would be picky for life. That is until I met my husband. In an effort to impress him, I ate so many different foods that I normally would not. I felt bad telling him I did not like so many things. And my husband is one of the least picky people I know. Well, on our first married Thanksgiving, we went to enjoy dinner with his dad and family. I always ate a plate of mashed potatoes and turkey on Thanksgiving because I did not like anything else. Fast forward to this scenario and now I am in the house of my new family and they have made a huge feast just for us and I have to eat. My father in law was so proud of his sweet potato casserole so I decided to give it a go. And guess what? It was not even half as bad as I thought it was. Actually, it was quite delicious! I knew I had to stick around with this recipe because it was so amazing!
