The other day I visited an apple orchard and they had boxes of apples and pears on sale for half price. These particular fruits had started to get overly ripe and had some spots and bruises. Well, I scooped them up because there is a wealth of desserts you can make using fruit like this. Once I got home I browsed the internet and found a wonderful apple and pear crumble recipe on the blog Get Me Cooking.
I ended up making several batches of the dessert because I had so many apples and pears. I saved one, gave 2 away to the neighbors, and took a batch to my husband’s grandparents. Everyone enjoyed their dessert and told me to make it again real soon.
