My dad and I always spent a lot of time together when I was growing up.
He had a full time job outside of the home of course to support the family. Then, when he got home from that, he was always working on something. It was usually something in the garage, down in the basement, or on special occasions, (or so I thought), he would have to go and help his friends. That’s when I got really excited. I would be in his truck waiting before he even had his shoes on.
He never once told me that I couldn’t go with him either. Sometimes, when Mom was busy, he would stop on in to the bowling alley after we were done with our task. They had the most amazing onion rings that I had ever tasted.
That’s another thing my dad and I shared, I love for onion rings. They served them up in a great big basket too and we would devour the whole thing. They were very similar to this recipe from Facebook. Now that I have these directions, I can make them at home!
