Have you ever had butterscotch pie? I certainly never had. Actually, I did not even know what butterscotch was. I always used butterscotch and Butterfinger (the candy bar) interchangeably until I noticed what I was doing. Well, as soon as I realized that they were two very different things, I decided I wanted to figure out exactly what butterscotch was.
How have I lived my whole life not knowing? Well, better late than never is my theory for everything! I called my neighbor Molly and asked her if she had any brilliant butterscotch recipes.
Anything at all. Whether it be a cake, bars or pie, I wanted the opportunity to try one of those. She could not believe I have never had butterscotch so she told me to sit back and relax and wait for her.
She would make me the best butterscotch pie out there and I would see exactly what I was missing out on. So I stayed home prepping some mugs for tea or coffee, whatever she preferred, while she got to baking.
Well, when she came over with that beautiful golden brown pie, I knew this was something amazing! This pie looked absolutely beautiful and with just one bite, I realized exactly what I had been missing all along!
