Where I grew up, there were all sorts of traditions that were regularly followed in our household. We did the regular holidays and birthdays, but then we had some of our own special days too. My mom was always good at coming up with different events and fun things to do throughout any given week. We would do BINGO nights, roller skating in the street nights, movie evenings, all kinds of things.
She would usually make up a pretty great meal to go with these special nights too. The first time she made up Mississippi slow cooker roast, I thought I was in heaven. I love pepperoncini peppers.
For quite some time, it was the only vegetable that I would eat. So, when I saw them on my roast, I couldn’t believe how wonderful it looked. It was just like this recipe from Delish Plan.
I ate a great big chunk of the moist and delicious roast and a huge serving of Mom’s homemade mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. It was incredible. This is one of my favorite ways to make roast still to this day.
