Once a year, some of our very goods friends like to host an outdoor summer party for a pretty small group of us. There are usually about five or six couples and their kids that show up and hang out, eat dinner, and then watch a movie on a projector under the stars. It really is quite the event, and one that we look forward to year after year.
The one thing that makes this summer party stand out from your traditional summer party is the fact that they always do a theme of some kind. Everyone dresses up, the decorate to the nines, and then the cuisine matches the theme.
Last year, it was a Mexican-inspired theme. We all wore our ponchos and sombreros, there were maracas and other instruments, and they even had photo booth props. My favorite part though, was the food. They had all kinds of yummy dishes, including a Mexican-style fried chicken. Holy cow was that good. I ate four pieces of it all to myself. It was just like this recipe from All Recipes.
I was certain to have my friend jot down that recipe for me before we left that night. I was making that chicken again without a doubt!
