Wedding bells were ringing for my brother and his beautiful bride many years ago. They didn’t have a lot of money, or possessions, but they knew that they loved each other and they wanted it to be forever. Our small family gathered in the tiny magistrate office at the court house and watched them exchange their vows. I think it was more personal than having a big fancy wedding. I would be fibbing if I said I didn’t consider doing my wedding that way if I had the chance to do it all over again.
When I asked them what they wanted to do following their nuptials, they said they wanted to go out to eat. Nonsense! I said I would prepare a nice home cooked meal that we could enjoy out at my husband’s parent’s property.
It was beautiful location on the lake that was perfect for the occasion. I grabbed a few of my favorite recipes, including this chipotle meatball recipe from My Recipes and headed out there.
In just a few hours we were enjoying a delicious meal next to the water with all of their closest friends and family. It was a perfect day!
