Every birthday from as far back as I can remember has always been a special day in our house. That is, when I was growing up, and now that I have moved out on my own and have had my own children. It is one day that my son, daughter, or husband gets completely to themselves. Everything from breakfast to dinner, activities, and television choices are up to them. For the most part, we all start thinking way ahead of time what we want to do on our special day so when it comes, the others can be prepared to make it happen.
My son’s favorite part of his birthday has always been the cake. He has a pretty big sweet tooth to say the least! I found this recipe on Julie’s Eats & Treats, and I suggested we try it. He always wants Oreos on the shopping list because they are his favorite cookie. He agreed to give it a try this year, and he loved it.
So did the rest of us! Now, this is the dessert that he asks for every year. We have it at other times too, just because it’s too good to only have once a year!
