I may love to eat, but I’m not as adventurous as most of my friends. I grew up in a household were the usual pies and meat recipes were the ones served at the table. So whenever I encounter a new recipe, I am always, always cautious. Frannie, one of my college friends had brought me to this Asian restaurant downtown. She told me it was a new restaurant that didn’t have a lot of patrons yet, but they served really good Asian food.
I love Asian food because they have these unique tastes that just blow you away. It was in that restaurant that I was able to eat chicken lettuce wraps. I remember eating a similar recipe when I was a kid, but it tastes different that this Asian version.
This one is more flavorful and has that taste that probably only Asian spices could give. I was immediately addicted to it. Frannie told me she has her own version of that. She served it to me the next time we met.
What I loved most about her version was that it’s a mixture of the one I used to eat at home and the one in the restaurant. It tasted just right that I was able to go home that day, satisfied and happy. The recipe for this amazing chicken lettuce wraps can be found in the next pages. Enjoy the unique taste of this recipe!
