It’s Time To Come In For Goulash!

We grew up in a little town on a small street with tons of children that also lived there. Every day that it wasn’t pouring down rain or too cold for Eskimos to go outside, we were out there playing. There were no cell phones then, so coming into the house on time for dinner was our own responsibility. Thankfully, there was a six o’clock town whistle that sounded that lit up the whole sky with a loud warning noise.

Now, usually, we heard this without a problem, but sometimes we were too busy playing and didn’t notice. That’s when my mom could be heard yelling…”It’s time to come in!” That’s when we knew we missed it.

With lots of apologies and an understanding mother, we usually didn’t catch too much problem for being late. On those days when we would come into goulash cooking, like this recipe from Group Recipes, we knew that there would be no trouble at all.

This dish always put mom, and dad, in a great mood. Now I make it for my family!

I’ve never heard of a real Hungarian goulash not having paprika in it. It tastes so much better than the American which is an awful lot like spaghetti.
