If you’ve ever had chicken cordon bleu in it’s original form, you know how ooey gooey and delicious it is. When I found this recipe for chicken cordon bleu soup on Spend with Pennies, I couldn’t wait to do my own review and taste test comparison. I whipped it up and made it following the crock pot directions. I didn’t want to have it right away and everything always seems to taste better when it cooks all day.
That night, I served this to my family…who didn’t hide their disappointment when they saw we were having soup. My husband is a firm believer that soup is not a meal. Anyways, they all took little sips and I watched each one of their eyebrows raise in approval.
Before I knew it, I looked up from my own bowl to see that they were all heading back to the slow cooker for more. I don’t think I made enough that first night, it disappeared before I even finished my first bowl. Now, whenever I make this, it’s only in a double batch at minimum. And my husband never complains about soup for dinner anymore. Score for me!
