I have always hated salad. My whole life, I have thought that a plate of grass is not only visually unappealing, but it really does not interest me one bit. I will take a big steak and loaded baked potato with a side of veggies, over a salad any day. I would also take some grilled chicken breast with rice beans and sweet fried plantains before a salad. Really, anything and everything seems more appealing than a big bowl of grassy lettuce.
Well, that was all true, and although visually I would always prefer the steak, when you get to my age and realize you do not lose weight as easily as you once did, you have to start liking salad. Now what I do to make it taste better (I just hate that it typically tastes like water!) is find a really good dressing.
I have tried so many bottles of dressing, you would think I own a restaurant by just glancing at my fridge. Well, it seems I can have everything I want if I make my own dressing. No, I do not have anything against regular bottle dressing, but this recipe is so good, I just cannot help making it!
