If there’s one thing that I learned growing up, it was that all adults held a little bit of magic in them. Whether it was my Uncle Sonny pulling a quarter from behind my ear, my Mom having eyes in the back of her head, or my Grandma knowing exactly when I would need a sweet treat to cheer me up, they all held some sort of special power. My Grandma’s superhero skills always were my favorite, because they always involved food!
She was the best cook, baker, and the politest server that I have ever encountered. One day, when I stopped by feeling pretty bad about a test score, she said, “I know just what you need! A cake!”
Not only did she make the cake, she brought me in the kitchen to help. She told me it was going to separate into three magnificent layers…of course I doubted that.
When this yummy treat came out of the oven she was 100% right! Not only did it look super cool, it tasted amazing. I found the same recipe on Recipe Lion recently and gave it a try all by myself.
It sure did bring back some great memories of the times I have spent with my beloved Grams!

Quick Tip: Try it with pumpkin!
When cooling this cake, do you refrigerate it? Looks delicious!
