There used to be this seafood place in the city where I grew up. They had some of the most reasonably priced, yummy food on their menu that we could get in the area.
One of my favorite items was the hush puppies. Sometimes I would go there and just order a big box of the deep fried little nuggets. They were cheap, tasty, and I usually could get filled up on them. (Never mind the nutritional value is probably not the greatest…that’s not what we’re talking about here.)
Now that I have started cooking on my own, I have been looking up different famous recipes. That’s how I found this on All Recipes for hush puppies. I couldn’t believe that you could make these things at home, so of course I had to try it out.
They were just like the ones I used to get at the restaurant, and I didn’t have to go anywhere! They are common appetizers and side dishes at my dinner table now.
