When I started to try cooking, I started with the easiest recipes—pasta recipes, rice recipes, and no-bake desserts. Pasta and rice were easy because you can pair anything with them. I’ll just make an oil-based tuna sauce, pour it over pasta noodles, and I already have a pasta dish. I’ll just chop up sausages, carrots, potatoes, and bacon, mix them with rice, cook them over fire and voila, I have fried rice.
No-bake desserts felt easy to me because there was no need for the use of an oven. The oven and I have gone a long way. How many cakes had burned under my watch, I couldn’t count.
So I decided to play it safe by starting with no-bake desserts. With no-bake desserts, the trick lies on the ingredients and how you properly assemble them on a dish. Usually, no-bake desserts need ingredients that are already in your cupboards and refrigerators.
They also mostly contain a lot of cream, chocolates, fruits, and layers. You alternate between cream and two other ingredients, before freezing them. This recipe by Brenda Score over at the Pioneer Woman will show us an easy no-bake dessert that involves chocolates, peanut butter, and cream cheese!
