Grandma’s Old-Fashioned Potato Soup

There’s something bright and sunny about enjoying a nice warm bowl of potato soup like my Grandma used to make. On the coldest and darkest of all winter days, she would always serve the most delicious style of soup that we couldn’t get enough of. Usually, we ended up fighting over whatever was left. Grandma wasn’t big on leftovers so she always tried to make just enough…and sometimes it wasn’t.

Now that I am older, I want to be able to serve that same soup to my own family. I could never seem to quite duplicate the recipe, until I found this one on The Pioneer Woman. The first time I made it I knew that I had found something special.

My daughter had been sick and couldn’t taste anything. When I gave her this she said, “That was good mom!” If you can taste something when you’re taste buds are working right, you know that it’s really good.

This is a dish that I will continue serving probably to my own grandchildren…whenever that time rolls around!
