There is nothing more traditional than a nice mashed potato. No matter what main entree you are serving, this is always the perfect side dish. I mean, who doesn’t like mashed potatoes?! A recipe without a ton of ingredients can get pretty boring, but you don’t want to mess with a good thing either. That’s why this Group Recipes version is absolutely perfect. It has just enough extra but not too much to take away from the taste of a classic potato.
Garlic is always the perfect combo to go with potatoes. I have always tried to use a garlic salt or powder, but you just don’t get the same flavor as using real garlic. It’s affordable, pretty simple to throw together (after you get the peeling done), and sure to be a crowd pleaser.
My husband now asks for mashed potatoes just about every night of the week! By using different flavored gravies or just topping with sour cream you can get all kinds of tastes because each marries differently. This should be a staple recipe card in your cupboard!

Quick Tip: Use Russet or red potatoes instead of Yukon if you prefer.
