How To Stay Sane If Grandma’s Cherry Pie Is Driving You Insane: Advice From A Grandaughter

Denying oneself grandma’s homemade cherry pie is absolute torture.

Seriously, not eating grandma’s cherry pie at our annual Thanksgiving family dinner this past year was the stupidest thing I could have ever done. I didn’t have a slice because I wanted to eat a little healthier. So, I watched that pie plate dwindle down to one piece. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do during a family dinner. Finally, I decided I was just going to have the pie. I mean, it was the holidays, after all. Welp, my brother got to it before I did and all of that magical cherry goodness was gone!

I pouted. yes, at 36 years old I pouted. You would have too if you would have seen that pie! Grandma told me I should have had the slice when it was offered to me. Lesson learned: Always listen to grandma.
