Set The Slow Cooker To Low And Let This Turkey Chili Simmer All Day Long – Yummo!

You Can Only Dream Of Having Leftovers…

I had a real hankering for some hot and hearty chili the other day but I didn’t have any ground beef on hand. Since I had everything else in my fridge and pantry I didn’t want to make a trip to the grocery store for just one item. So, I poked around in my freezer a bit and low and behold I found a few frozen pounds of ground turkey. Score! With the right seasonings, you can’t even tell that ground turkey is used in place of beef in a chili recipe.

I fried up the turkey and loaded it up with my favorite chili spices and seasonings, drained the fat (there was barely any), and added the meat to the Crock Pot with the other chili fixins’. I let everything simmer on low for about 4 hours. Boy, did my house ever smell good.

When it was time to eat my kids and husband were just getting home from work and school. They walked into the house and were instantly plowed in the face with the aroma of hot and spicy slow cooker turkey chili simmering. It was a GRAND meal 🙂 Enjoy!
