Save Your Money And Make Your Own Velveeta-Style Cheese

I always loved Velveeta cheese. I was never too crazy about the cost though, and my local store didn’t always have it on hand. That was especially true during the holidays and on big game weekends. So, of course, the one weekend I was going to make a con queso dip, they were all out of cheese. I had already promised everyone that I was going to supply the appetizer, so I was at a loss of what to do. I could have drove 20 minutes to the next store, but that seemed like a waste.

I did a quick Google search and this little beauty popped up on Group Recipes. Thank goodness it worked! I started this the night before the big game and it was done perfectly the next morning. I was nervous that people weren’t going to like it because, let’s face it, people like processed.

It was a crowd pleaser to say the least. Everyone ranted and raved about it and said it was the best con queso I had ever made! Now, before any big event, I know to get this ingredient going the night before so I have the cheese that I need without even going to the store!
