Save The Mess With This Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken

There’s a funny story that goes along with this yummy buffalo chicken recipe. I actually made it on accident the first time! I was having some friends over for a Sunday late night football game. In the slow cooker I had some chicken wings in buffalo sauce for people to snack on during the game.

We watched our team win, ate until we couldn’t anymore, said our goodbyes, and went to bed. In the morning, I woke up and could still smell the buffalo chicken wings. I thought, I know they’re strong but I didn’t think we would be able to smell them in the morning.

When I went out to the kitchen, much to my surprise, I had forgotten to put the slow cooker away and clean out the pot. I started pulling the wings out to store and of course the meat fell right off the bone.

I just continued doing this until there were no bones left and only shredded chicken in the pan. For lunch, I made sandwiches out of what was left in there. It was so good! Who knew? Now I make a similar recipe, but I used chicken breast and make it on purpose.

It’s a lot like this recipe from Spend With Pennies. I guess that’s why not all accidents are a bad thing!
