Old-Fashioned Apple Crisp, Just Like Grandma Used To Make

What An Impressive Dessert!

One of the things I can’t live without, when it comes to holiday season, is apple crisp. It was my favorite dessert as a child and I guess it still is.

Occasionally, I fall in love with another, new dessert that I come across, but I always come back to this one. It’s so comforting, easy-to-make and it brings back all those memories from decades ago. My grandmother made the most amazing apple crisp, and the aromas of this dessert baking in the oven always remind me of her.

Unfortunately she had never written down her recipe for apple crisp; I guess she was such an experienced cooked that she didn’t really need one. She just eyeballed the amount of each ingredient and it always turned out amazing!

I don’t have the skills to do that, so I like to use this recipe that I got from my neighbor a few years back. It is the closest thing to grandma’s apple crisp I’ve ever tasted – maybe one day my grandchildren will make this and think of me!
