Grandma’s Classic Banana Bread

Summer vacation was always my favorite time of the year. I’m sure that’s true for most kids. Mine was always extra special I thought though, because I got to go spend a month on Grandma and Grandpa’s farm. Most of my friends never saw the appeal, but they didn’t get to experience it like I did. There was so much to do. My favorite was of course riding the horses. The only had a few, but they were the best horses ever.

Some of those animals were my best friends for that month while I was there. I could go out and ride from sun up until sun down. Grandma always knew that if that’s what I was going to be doing for the day, she wasn’t going to see me for lunch. She was so sweet, she would pack me a lunch that I could drop into my saddle bag.

It wasn’t like the bag lunches at home though. She would always include a big dessert, like banana bread. It was so moist and delicious. I found a similar recipe on My Recipes. I would go sit under my favorite shade tree and just enjoy the peace and quiet with my pony. Those were the best days.
