Fall Surprise Caramel Apple Delicious Dump Cake

There’s nothing more satisfying than sitting down to a lovely dessert filled with apples and caramels.

This dump cake is the heir to my throne. LOL Ok, I’ve been watching too many GOT episodes, but seriously, it doesn’t get any easier than this folks. Apple dump cake is so easy to make and when you add in the gooey flavors of caramel to the mix…heavenly! I plan to make this dessert sometime this week for my kiddos after they get home from school. I think it’ll be the perfect Fall snack, don’t you?

I have two kids in highschool and one junior higher and they all eat like horses so I’m sure this dessert will sit well with them 🙂

Am anxious to try this, it looks delicious!
What size baking dish? Do you place whole stick of butter on top of cake mix or do you slice it into pieces?

I would mix the melted butter with the cake mix first, then put it over the caramels & fruit. Works much better with the dump cakes. No more dry spots.

Another example of no proof-reading or editing on a recipe! The butter needs to explained!! I have made dump cakes that called for it melted, but some say to cut it into slices or cubes and distribute them equally on the dry mix. I have also made them where the cake mix and melted butter are combined and sprinkled on top of filling. But for heavens sake for the new bakers reading this, give them some type of idea what to do! Placing the butter on the cake mix is not an acceptable way to go here and does not work!!!

Judy, if anyone places an entire stick of butter in all of its stick glory on top of the cake mix they may need to go back to grade school.

Made this recipe, used a 9 X 13 pan, mixed melted butter w/cake mix. sprinkled on top!! Though it is good, I like a lot of fruit in my cobblers, & pies. So I think I’ll put 4 cans of pie filling in it next time. My husband thought there was way too much cinnamon, so I’ll probably leave the spices the same as they are. Happy baking everyone!!!
