Classic Vanilla Cake: Sometimes Traditional Is GOOD

I’m in love with chocolates, but I can never say no to vanilla.

Whether it’s about ice creams, cakes, or chocolates, I consider vanilla as a classic. While it’s the simplest thing in Sweetsland, it’s up there in the hierarchy of traditional desserts that is considered a favorite by most. It will not run out of style. It’s still a popular choice when it comes to occasions like weddings, birthdays, and anniversaries.

There are times when I am invited for a sudden get-together with my family and I have nothing to bring. It usually happens whenever someone who lives from afar suddenly arrives in town for a visit. We take advantage of that and call everyone for a small gathering in whoever’s house. With no time to spare for the suddenness of the activity, I usually opt to bring a cake. And I always buy the classic vanilla cake which everyone just seems to love. Even the kids love it. There’s something homey about its basic-ness that it brings happiness and comfort in every bite. This recipe from the Saucy Girl’s Kitchen brings to you the most basic vanilla cake that tastes so good that there’s more to it than just “being traditional”.
