They’ll Line Up And Beg For Seconds If You Make This Yummy Salad

Whenever someone at our church passes away that doesn’t have much of a family to speak of, there is a group of us that takes over and hosts a memorial in their honor. Believe it or not, it happens more than what you think. I think that people that feel alone, turn to the Lord when they know their time is coming to an end, and I don’t see anything wrong with that. As a member of this helpful group, I often will volunteer to bring the dessert.

It’s usually a last minute event so I need something that can be done up quickly. This last time, a man that always sat in the back row, in a scruffy beard and ratty clothes had passed. I thankfully had found this recipe for a snicker and caramel apple salad on Julie’s Eats & Treats a few days earlier.

I tossed it together in the morning and was headed out the door with it ready to go by lunch time. It was a beautiful service held for the man we didn’t know very well. I’m just glad we got to honor his memory together as one caring group.
